Coverage B - Other Structures Coverage
Garages, she-sheds & fences
Coverage for the structures outside of your main home is just as important. Find a homeowners insurance carrier who can provide the right coverage for your outdoor kitchens, bars, guest houses and other structures not attached to the main dwelling.
Protect the other structures of your home
Here's What's Covered
This part of your policy kicks in when structures other than your primary dwelling are damaged or destroyed. For instance, if a garage is damaged in a fire or a fence is knocked down in a windstorm, Coverage B would help pay for repairs or replacement.
How Much Coverage Do I Need?
Coverage B is typically set at 10% of the dwelling coverage, but this can be increased up to 70% of your Coverage A (dwelling) protection, which is helpful if you have valuable detached structures on your property, such as outdoor kitchens and bars, guest houses, and more. Evaluate the worth of all separate structures on your property to ensure this coverage is sufficient to replace them in case of total loss.
