Here's What's Covered
Coverage L (liability coverage) protects a homeowner if they are sued by a tenant or guest on their property for accidental injury or property damage. This may include injuries sustained by your neighbor if they slip-and-fall on your patio deck as well as any damage to a tenant’s belongings located on the premises.
How Much Coverage Do I Need?
Coverage L* offers $100,000 to $500,000 in liability protection. Homeowners with significant assets may wish to get the highest limit available – or even purchase an umbrella policy for even more liability coverage.
*Coverage L is optional only if the dwelling is not primarily owner-occupied.
