Coverage C - Personal Property Coverage
For all those good things
Coverage for the items inside of your home is also important. Find a homeowners insurance carrier who can provide the right coverage for your appliances, gaming units, and the stuff which keep you going each and every day.
Protect the comforts of home
Here's What's Covered
Coverage C (personal property) reimburses you for the loss or damage of your personal belongings – including furniture, electronics, clothing, and other personal items – due to a covered disaster.
Whether a theft in your home results in lost valuables or a fire destroys your furniture and electronics, personal property coverage can help replace these items. This coverage is sometimes available for items outside of the home, such as when a laptop is stolen while traveling.
How Much Coverage Do I Need?
The amount of personal property coverage is typically 25% of your Coverage A (dwelling) amount. Your renter's and condo's insurance personal property limits may differ. However, it may be increased up to 75% of your dwelling coverage. Conducting a home inventory can help determine what amount of coverage is right for you, based on the total value of your possessions. If you have high-value items, like jewelry or art, consider specific riders such as scheduled personal property coverage or premium packages.
